Judges Under A Microscope

Ruth serves as a prologue to the book of Judges. We zoom in on Naomi and her family as they navigate the vicious cycle of sin-then-repentance. Despite Naomi’s hopelessness, she finds a companion that comforts, provides, and restores.

Taken Up

{Luke 24:36-53}

In the Apostle’s Creed, we confess that “[Christ] ascended to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.” What is the significance of Christ’s ascension? Pastor Drew encourages us to live with an Ascension Worldview, remembering that Christ advocates for us in the throne room of God.

He Has Risen (Easter)

{Luke 22:1-12}

Who is Jesus? Like those living during the time of Jesus and everyone who’s come since, we wrestle with an empty tomb. Some say the body was stolen. Some say it’s just plain crazy. Some say Christ is risen. What we believe about the empty tomb depends on what we believe about Jesus. So, who is Jesus?

Capturing Glory

{Luke 9:18-36}

At what might be the height of Jesus’ earthly ministry, the disciples finally recognize His divinity. So why does Jesus ask them to keep it secret? Pastor Drew offers an explanation as we examine Peter’s Confession and The Transfiguration.

Do You Hear What I Hear?

{Luke 8:1-15}

Jesus gives the parable of the sower. We often think of each type of soil as a different hearer. Some hear the Word of God as though they were rocky soil, some as though choked out by weeds. But what if we’ve all been every type of hearer? Pastor Drew explains how sometimes we listen to God as though we’re fertile soil, and other times we let excuses or circumstances distract us from obedience.

Are You the One?

{Luke 7:18-35}

Have you ever doubted God? Then you’re in good company. Luke 7 tells the story of the great John the Baptist, doubting Christ in his final days. Pastor Drew encourages us to follow John’s example and take our doubts directly to Christ.

To Judge or Be Judged

{Luke 6:37-45}

There’s a fine line between accountability and judgment. Perhaps the most pervasive stereotype of Christians is our aptitude to judge. Jesus articulates quite clearly where the line is, and implores us to be on the right side. Pastor Drew talks about the posture we are to take in judging to emulate Jesus’ life and ministry.
